Graphic Narratives
This approach to storytelling is a very powerful and visually engaging way of expressing. Since we don't have the luxury of using multiple shots for continuity and multiple frames for motion, this is a mentally exhausting yet satisfying process of selecting the exact one image through which the narration has to be done. The way of using the lines is a conscious choice and how we place it on the paper is nothing less than a choreography in itself. We get to decide what needs to be showed, what  and needs to be hidden and in what quantity. "We are the thread bearers, we are the weavers, we are the sutradhars", says Amruta Patil our amazing guide for the course.

A portrait of the other

A lot of conversations that take place involve a lot of talking than hearing most of the times. This particular exercise involed a very careful hearing that allows you to see through the other person and try to feel that what is not very openly told. This particular piece of narrative is a result of a communication that happened not just verbally but through a lot of other observations including body language, expressions, linguistic choices etc.
The story told may exist or not however the emotion truly does which the story tries to bring out.
The unpleasant truth

Social networking blesses us with information from all across the globe. Facts are thrown from all different places and interestingly they clash a lot of times during the meaning making process in our minds.  Hence a lot of these stories are unresolved half baked in our heads. This particular story is one such representation of an unsettling event that took place in India.
